Part-time blogger, long post-er

My sincere apologies for this once-a-month habit of blogging I've developed.

No coffee. I've had one cup (on the first Sunday of Lent...you get Sundays off if you're not Catholic) but it was after a very late night and an early morning. But the rest of my Lent has been coffee free. The headaches have subsided now but when my alarm sounds the beginning of my day I still get a craving to wake me up so I pray instead. Since I gave up coffee my water intake has risen. I used to average about 1-1.5 liters a day, now I'm averaging 2-3 liters a day.

On Sunday I just finished a 7 day gastro-intestinal cleanse and I feel pretty great. Breakfast and lunch were replaced by shakes and 5 liver support pills/capsules. The first 4 days are dedicated to repairing and the last 3 days are for detoxifying (to a cellular level) from pesticides, metals, and other toxins. I got the kit from Roots and I'm thinking of doing another one in a months time. My birthday was within the week so one night I was a little bad and had cake. Carpe diem!

My wedding dress came in and I got to go try it on Friday and it was fabulous! I won't say much more because you-know-who reads this. I'm very excited. We found a photographer and are working on the invites. Things are rolling along really well in the wedding sector of life.

We got a tip on a great basement suite our friends were moving out of and snagged it so Mike moves in there April 1st...I'm not kidding. We bought a dinette set (table, 4 chairs, black-brown stain) and 2 dark brown, leather-looking couches for a smoking deal. They're perfect for our "firsts".

Yesterday we headed onto the SkyTrain with a couple of friends and had dinner at Capones in Yaletown...delicious and so cool. I had the charizo and prawn fettucini in a tomato sauce with kalamata olives and goat cheese. Mike had a Mediterranean fettucini and got used to the idea of olives. Then we walked from Yaletown to English Bay in the sprinkling rain to Cupcakes and Starbucks. Fun with friends and a great way to end off a severely busy weekend.

Next weekend's adventure: Seattle with Heather...stay tuned.

Ahh, the apartment...with the potential work we'd have to put into the place (biggies included a new deck and pipes VERY soon) we decided not to take it and take some time to save up some more money.

Buying a place and getting married in the same time frame proved to be a wee bit busy/stressful for us so we're choosing to get married first and get a better place a little later on. We get to keep our sanity and everyone wins when that happens:)
