Oh! Christmas Tree!

We got our first Christmas tree (thanks to my parents) on Friday night. Yes, it's artificial. Let's just all take a deep breathe and wrap out minds around this before we say anything rude and start the hate on the artificial. The fake tree is just the right choice for us right now. And it felt very right when all I had to do on Saturday was slot the 3 pieces of the tree together, fold down it's pre-lit arms and plug it in. Yes, we set it up/plugged it in. And Mike may have felt the need to pull out his Christmas mixes while the tree went up.

Don't worry, it's not like we decorated it or anything:)

Eye Spy

This year I didn't have oodles of time or my usual pumpkin knives (they're still living with my parents) but I had half an hour and a giant kitchen knife to make a blood-shot eyeball. I took the picture a good week after Hallowe'en, when I remembered to take the picture when it was dark out. Which is almost all the time now.

Froggy Love!

Xena is the very large frog on the left. Nelson is the regular sized frog on the right. We changed their water today and gave them some new/different rocks.

Moments after being put back into the new water. They love to hide by their bridge.

Aerial view, because my husband's tall.

Xena's ghetto booty on the left. Nelson on the right.
So, at the moment Xena is still sick with "Dropsy" but we got her some medicine so we're hoping we see some improvement sooner rather than later. Mostly we're just hoping she stops growing soon...I am literally afraid she will explode.
We hope to get a new baby frog once Xena is better. But we'll keep it in a seperate tank until it grows bigger and then we'll transfer it as when they lived with my parents my sister mysteriously had, not one, but two sucker/cleaner fishes disappear. We don't want them to mistaken the baby frog for food.
To loosely quote Bruce from Finding Nemo "Frogs are friends, not food."
