On Christmas Eve, snowed in on all sides, by BC standards-I know:), I found this on my church's website from when we lit one of the Advent candles and it just seems fitting...

Look for the love

Don’t go in search of the baby this Christmas.

Instead,
look for the love
which comes unexpectedly
and in the dirtiest places;

which is born
from the wombs
of those we would never expect.

7 sleeps...

...and there is still much to do--shopping, wrapping, cards.

But...

...the wreath finally got hung.
...so did the stockings (it was near impossible to find stocking hangers!).
...6 hours of baking Christmas cookies with friends was completed last Sunday and I get to do other goodies with another friend this Saturday!
...the 4th Sunday of Advent is nearly upon us.
...we got snow and sub-zero temperatures and there is talk of a white Christmas.
...I traded my flip-flops for boots.

The weather outside is icey, but my fireplace warms me nicely.
My tootsies are oh so cold, 'cause it snowed, 'cause it snowed, 'cause it snowed!

Anticipation

The tree has been up for 1.5 weeks.

It's half-way decorated (my man needs to track down his ornaments from his sister and bro-in-law) but the angel is already on.

My Starbucks mini-tree is sitting by the espresso machine with a watchful snowman and heavy-laden boughs.

The wreath is begging to be hung.

Snowmen, LED tealights, and "greenery" sit quietly on our mantle and alcove by the door.

Names have been drawn.

A few presents have been bought, many more mock me from the store shelves.

Completed our annual viewing of "Love Actually", this time with the commentary on and wine (we were out of peppermint shnapps to put in hot chocolate...must rectify that situation soon).

Thinking of baking some Christmas cookies.

Needing to wash the floors.

Desperate for a cup of holiday cheer and a nap by the fireplace.

Advent preparing my heart.

Anticipating the birth(day).
