Everyone's doing it

Oh 2007, what a ride you've been. I'm not sure even where to start. I like Heather's idea of picking a memory-a-month but-truth be told-my memory fails me some months and I'd hate to copy-cat such a fab idea. Guess I could look back on my blog to see what I was up to in those months where memory fails me but so could you and chances are that you are reflecting on your own '07.

Right now I'm remembering 2007 as a flash of a year. Lots happened. Many times I (and subsequently my man) were over-extended in many respects...and then we learned (and are still learning) how to say 'no'. But many more times I, and/or we, enjoyed the company of good friends, good times, and good wine. Ah-ha, most memorable wine moment of 2007: The week before the cruise in September, Heather asking, over wine, if I thought Mike was going to propose on the cruise and me using my 'could you say anything dumber?' voice to tell her I didn't think so. But as this year closes and the next begins it seems like things will not be slowing down (wouldn't that be nice?). Full-speed ahead with wedding plans, planning for 4 and a half months to feel like 1 or 2, I'm sure.

Cheers to a 2008 filled with God's peace and grace no matter where the year takes you.

Holy Toast!

Well, the antibiotics for my ear infection have been giving me a headache and making me feel barfy. It's a trade off, I suppose. Only a couple of days left.

Working nights for a month has resulted in a burn-out (hence the ear infection) and now I'm left dragging my butt around during the day. I can't wait for Christmas morning so I can sleep in:)

Tonight Mike and I are braving the mall in search of Christmas presents. We only have a couple of things to get, no big deal...I can't wait to see all the frenzied shoppers:)

Today at Winners I picked up this great piece of Christian-type kitch. I couldn't resist. It's called "Miracle Toast". It's a bread stamper and you stamp the bread with it and then put the slice in the toaster and when the toast comes out you have your very own piece of miracle toast with the Virgin Mary on it! Nothing starts your day off right like a little miracle in your toaster. I think I'll try slipping a piece in the stack of toast on Christmas morning.

One month later...

...and I've finally gotten around to posting. I'm on week #3 of working until 8pm most nights, one more week to go (I say optimistically).

I bought my wedding dress. First store, first one I tried on (no worries, the girls all made me try on more). I can't wait until it comes in and I can try it on for real. We even ventured into almost Burnaby and picked out bridesmaids dresses and got the girls sized after my Mom treated us to lunch. It was a perfect day.

And then I rear-ended a guy. My first two-vehicle accident. Merging onto the Haney Bypass. It was classic. I wasn't sure if I was going to pass out or throw up, and between all my shaking and helping the man remove my front bumper off the back of his (so Heather says, I don't actually remember that part) I didn't know which end was up. The man was extremely nice to me and that helped. Mike coming to save all of us freezing ladies was also nice. He's a keeper. That was November 10th and I'm still driving the courtesy car that has that "old cigarette smoke" stench. Apparently, they've been waiting on parts. One thing I know for sure: I was missing my 4 wheel drive when we got that dump of snow on the weekend.

From there, things have been a blur. Lots of work and little play make Lindsey a dull girl. But a dull girl who is thrilled that Advent is here, waiting in anticipation of that holy night, none-the-less. The stars are brightly shining.
