I worked my last Saturday shift this weekend and can't wait to catch up on some sleep (in a couple of weekends) and things around the house.

In addition to my new timing belt and my on-order coolant resevoir (to be installed this Saturday) I had a minor car emergency last Friday. I didn't even make it down our street when my car felt like it was going to stall and my 'check engine' light flashed and then went on solid. Lately, I just can't catch a break with the beast! Thankfully, Mike was on his way behind me so I flagged him down. A new spring clamp (something to do with the resevoir, I think?) and 4 spark plugs later, Xander is good to go. Now I need to think about a new fuel filter in the next little bit and a battery, as both appear to be original (the Sportage is an '02..time to take care of some of that).

This weekend, just like the rest and like the rest of you, had us running all over the place. Strange to stop in at a place you haven't been for awhile...makes you ponder.

We're involved in a series about the Kingdom of God at church and hearing a lot of life-changing and challenging ideas. I'm excited to see where this will take us but sad I have to miss the next couple of weekends. Good thing we have the internet.

I suffered a little from being a hermit this past January. Not on purpose...that's not my style. Working 6 days a week since Christmas has played a large role in that. So, suffice to say, there haven't been very many exciting occurances. Oh, except for a legendary Whistler weekend...involving clowns. And a timing belt for my car. But Whistler was way more epic than my car bill. That's epic.

February is promising a new fan belt (or 3, more accurately) and coolant resevoir for my car. Mike gets to cheer on our men in blue and green (and Mats 'Slug'din) on Saturday night with the men in his family. I'll be drinking something girly and watching something girly with some girls. In a couple of weekends I'll be heading down to Oregon to stay at a winery/brewery for a womens conference. It will be the first of it's kind for me and sounds like it should prove interesting.

In general, I'm excited for this new year. (*Birthday looming later in the month, always causes me to reflect on where I "am"/been/going. Backread my blog, you'll see.) I'm especially excited to see what my faith will grow into, how it's going to develop and evolve. It has been exciting to begin a new faith journey of sorts with the man I love more than anything by my side and I by his, seeing where this will take us. Our church has stretched my boundaries, totally smashed others to find something sublime laying in the rubble (the phoenix analogy seemed too obvious so I'm left with some kind of sub-par soliloquy). I've been thinking about what kind of a direction to take with work lately...that's a thinker, too.

Trust February to throw me into a reflective state...yeesh!
